Veracity is proud to announce its 1st workshop with AUC professor
In celebration of our first writing competition, Veracity is proud to invite Dr. Aliaa Hamad, a full-time faculty member in AUC to a creative writing workshop.

Dr. Aliaa Hamad is a full-time faculty member, theme leader, and Chair of the Writing Minor Advising and Futurize your Course Committees at AUC’s Department of Rhetoric and Composition where she has taught the following courses: Freshman Seminar, Freshman Writing, Research Writing, Selected Topics in Humanities, Business Communication, Public Speaking, and Writing Children’s Literature. ​
​Dr. Hamad holds a BA in English literature, an MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from AUC, and a PhD in linguistics. She also has 2 Graduate Diplomas in Gender and Women’s Studies and International Human Rights Law as well as a Career Certificate in Legal Translation from AUC and is a former Cambridge-certified oral examiner, freelance translator and editor, and stage mentor and curriculum design form and test-item writer.

She was awarded the Merit Award for Excellence in Teaching by AUC’s School of Continuing Education in 2014.
​
Her first book Be Careful What You Wish For, a collection of short stories and vignettes, was published in 2017. Her second book Sammy Has a Secret was published in 2019, and her third book Where is Grandpa? was published in 2022.
​
Her research interests include teacher education, learner motivation, teaching methodology, language assessment, curriculum design, rhetoric and composition, creative writing, gender and migration and refugee studies, and rhetoric in international human rights laws.
